Fall is waning
Days are getting short The sun is dried up By a grey damn of clouds Only a light misting reaches the surface Whicked away by thirsty greens Leaving little for others suffering the drought But sometimes The dams break and leak Spilling drops of sirupy sun onto the earth Flooding through windows and curtains Skipping over ripples and waves Soaking into flowers and faces Revealing warm and vibrant smiles And yet As the light turns gold As the clouds turn orange, then pink, then dark The shadows become one As night comes crawling And the last drops of light spill over the horizon But these last drops Although short lived, are precious So at sundown I often find myself running Chasing the light - LittleBlueDragon |
