Goddess of love, of beauty, of spell,
Of warriors fierce and the dead as well Springtime’s face with enchanting grace, A strong driving force and a tender embrace Two cats drew forth her chariot bright, At home, she was Odr’s heart's delight She rode the boar and soared like hawks, As 'The Lady' she stood in divine talks Odin she taught her magical practice With Loki she battled, a seer, attractive She sang in trance, received her sight, And spoke her spell with inner light Her husband Odr was often away, She wept golden tears, longed for his stay She led the Valkyries into the war, And guided the dead to peace ever more To dwarves she whispered “Yes, Amen,” And gained the precious Brísingamen Close to birch and feline kin, She brings the springtime’s warmth within She still lingers, ardent and wise, In the morning mist and twilight skies, In gentle blossoms of early spring, In passion that lovers make glow and sing |
