The Tides
Imagine life would be an ocean
and beneath lie our souls, swept away by love's devotion to be reborn where passion grows. Imagine waves would be our shelter and below we'd fall asleep, sleepless as once nature felt her recovery out of the deep. We would keep on softly moving through our lives, built out of love; as years will pass we'd still be proving that love was sent from high above. And if we ever had to cry we would not really cry a tear, for salty is the place we'd hide; should water seek the water near? And if up high the clouds were burning we would be save under the sea and through all times we'd still be learning what it means to be that free. Imagine we would find a river, the trembling light would blind our eyes; wouldn't we stand still an shiver before that glittery disguise? For below that shining surface lies a pond of peaky stones where bare pebbles lost their own trace searching roaming for their homes. Wouldn't we find out what matters underneath the sparkling stars and discover hidden letters that tell us how we got this far? So why should we now worry, darling? Why should we think of that? Isn't it still love that's crawling in my chest and in my head? Isn't it still love that keeps me shivering from head to foot; and your soul the voice that leads me with faithful strength like no one could? Still it's your hand I wish to hold on until the end of time, as every day our love is reborn like the ocean's tides divine. |
