The Tooth of Our Time

Every human needs for eating,
every animal needs for feeding
firm front teeth, sharp to bite,
to tear healthy grain with might
in clear cut patterns and in rage,
following forms of Modern Age.

Never do rodents show a gap,
a busted tusk just grows back,
with humans time gnaws away
with seductive sweets a day
through vital nerves and glaze,
a symbol of our Post-Modern Age.

With putrid in palates' grooves,
mumbling and spoiled moods,
missing are the two white fronts,
missing the edgy, ripping fangs,
undermine the dashing dream
in a dentist's dull waiting room.

The long needle for anesthetics
causes short anxiety neurotics,
drilling is without pain entirely,
the mirror image laughs heartily
after gently liberating cosmetics
after every culinary artistics.
