a falcon flies in through the dark glass of evening
my soul drinks the sun and the earth quiety hums
a diamond for me, and a pearl for you

my wine thinks it would be better off
in the mouth of a king, or as, scenting into the night,
waiting for lovers on a balcony alit by the moon

a sharp loving rides me through my yesterdays
the air of forgetting is too cold for a summer soul
chirps a bird and whispers to me of a future

thousands of days fly through my memory
each time I see a day it stumbles through my gates
wrote a paper on cynicism, the evening smiled

so I am washed in old sunrays and dry myself later
with the clear darkness of a rosy night
and had I been given a crown I would

ask you to remember me
