Standard Show me the right way

Give me your hand, take me away from this painful world.
Show me the way to peace, which I desired so long.
Let me trust in your word and you one, if not THINK find meaning in life! Right, left, which way should I go?
Show me the direction that you bring me one step closer to derail the world out of my hands can.

Stay or go?
Live or die?
Love or hate?

Which path will be the right one?

Hi Sonja,

first of all I'd like to say that it's always good to have a try at english texts. Should be done more often here. However, I have some suggestions. Your text is written in simple language, that's nothing to worry about, but in this case there are some lines to be improved.

In the first line you say "bring", but "take me away from" would be the better expression I think. In the next line you should change the second part into "[...] which I desired for so long."

"Let me trust in your word and you one, if not THINK find meaning in life!" This line is kind of a riddle to me, don't know exactly what you're trying to say but I'm sure that you can avoid the if-clause.

"Show me the direction that you bring me one step closer to derail the world out of my hands can." This one is a painful sentence for natives, that's for sure. I would give you a possible alternative in case I had figured out which direction this sentence is trying to go. But it remains a mystery to me.

All in all, it's both pretty simple language and statement but the idea which hides behind it seems interesting, Sonja. Don't get me wrong when I say it reminds me of a scene at an intersection light with your mom holding your hands and watchin for cars to come across. I think you wanted to state something more profound than that.

I don´t know, what you want to say with these words.

Thanks a lot for your answer, moon!

I will try more to write in this beautiful language.

Best wishes,
Sonja.

What I meant was a mother, holding her daughter's hand while checking "left and right" whether they can cross the street. I just made it up while reading your text. I know that your intention was another. Sounds good that you go on writing English stuff and I'm sure what you call "beautiful language" will break through.

Uh, yep. Except for the English c-:, but let me add some comments beyond those by moon:

Zitat:
Give me your hand, take me away from this painful world.
Show me the way to peace, which I desired so long.
I think a shift in tense might work here: which I've yearned / been yearning for...

Zitat:
Let me trust in your word and you one, if not THINK find meaning in life! Right, left, which way should I go?
?!? I simply don't get to the core of this:

Zitat:
Show me the direction that you bring me one step closer to derail the world out of my hands can.
?!? Either there is one abundant can - or a veil is just blurring my vision and/or cognition. I do not get the point in here either.

To me, this is one hell of a puzzle!

Cheers,

Eben.
